Sneak Peak on BlackBird Fashion!
Ah, the great month of september is approaching us! Especially, for all those who live in NYC, prepare for all those who are stylists or claim to be, for all they know, its Fashion Week. I digress, but our great lads at BlackBird Designs have given a preview into their fall season. The dynamic duo consists of Zeddie Lukoe and Sydney Owino. Having been featured on Africa Fashion Week 2011, they have placed kenyan fashion in Menswear on the Map, especially in New York City.
I'm excited to see what else september will bring out of kenya and the african diaspora. Don't forget to follow Zeddie and Sydney on Twitter!

Kenya's Camp Mulla at BET Awards
This year, Kenya received its FIRST representation at the BET AWARDS! The group Camp Mulla was nominated for Best International Act. It definitely shows a lot for BET to choose this young, fresh and talented group. Although, they sadly did not win the award, they were given the opportunity to spread their names and Kenyan's new grove into the US market. I expect to hear much more about them soon! I'm so proud of them! If you've never heard of Camp Mulla (shame), give them a listen:

BLACKBIRD SWAG
Just one of those summer days, went to a BBQ and met up with my good friend Zeddie of BlackBird Jeans and I decided to "pose" with one of his S.W.A.G t-shirts, standing for SOMETHING WE AFRICAN GOT.
~Make sure to look out for them~

WE Found LOVE in KENYA!
Beautiful Rendition! Rihanna has some competition, mhmmmm!
I love the whole concept as well, being with the MAASAI and experiencing Kenya at its finest! I think that Lindsey Stirling, did a wonderful job in capturing the entire feel of the song in a fun, exciting way. Lindsey is a Hip-Hop violinist that has been on the television show: AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, so basically she has been making her way through the music business against all odds. In battle between who sung it better, I think its Stirling 1 Rihanna 0!

The Maasai, Beads and Models: OH MY!
The VIRAL campaign created by the group HIGHLY ENDANGERED , taped into struggling ethnic tribe. I find this entire campaign interesting, EFFECTIVE and Ultimately FUN. According to their website, the term HIGHLY ENDAGERED usually is coined with something that is at risk of being extinct, which sadly the MAASAI are. They are using this campaign to help fund sustainable of their lifestyle in this modern world. As much as I am for having modernization aka having wi-fi everywhere, lets keep these beautiful people where they want to be, which is KENYA and NORTHERN TANZANIA, btw.
Although,This is not the 1st time maasi fashion has found its way into HAUTE COUTURE:
Gisele Bündchen and Keseme Ole Parsapaet (the maasi) posed together for American Express ($$$) R(E)D campaign.

FEELIN IT': Donnell Jones
I'm stuck in the 90s man, I don't think I'll ever leave and these song is probably the reason why. I love it, perfect to listen to sleep to, dance to, wake up to, power walk to. It has such a cool vibe. I live for this kind of vibe, its great. Donnell Jones creates this perfectly, although he wasn't much of the "hit-man," he did his thing and rocked millions.
~~Feel the Vibe~~
